WOMEN’S HEALTH RISKS:
SCREENING

Over time, the changes in your body and its functions deserve extra attention and care.

The goal of the Women’s Health Assessment offered by the Check-Up Center is to follow up, guide and help you take care of your health at the various stages of your life.

YOUR ASSESSMENT

Your evaluation will last around three and a half hours. Breakfast will be served after the blood sample has been taken.

Following is a general outline of the procedure:

Medical Consultations with an internist specialized in endocrinology and with a gynecologist
Blood and Hormone Testing
Complete Urinalysis
Fecal Occult Blood Test
Examinations

• Body composition assessment: measurement of body fat
• Optometry/Tonometry: visual acuity, glaucoma, ocular pressure
• Audiometry: hearing acuity
• Spirometry: respiratory function examination
• Resting electrocardiogram
• Chest x-ray
• Mammography Pap test

ADDITIONAL EXAMINATIONS

In addition to the health assessment described above, the doctors who have examined you might suggest additional examinations, such as:

Pelvic Ultrasound: In menopausal women, if there is the slightest clinical doubt, the ovaries and endometrium may be examined by pelvic ultrasound.

Thyroid Tests: Thyroid disease is a common occurrence in women over 40. The hormone assessment screens for hypothyroidism or an autoimmune disease. In some cases, a morphological examination of the thyroid gland may be suggested to detect any thyroid nodules.

Bone Densitometry: Osteoporosis exposes women to the risks of bone loss-related compression fractures and multiple fractures, primarily of the neck of the femur (hip). Some women are particularly at risk after menopause. Evaluating the risk factors and the state of the skeletal health is essential to start preventive measures.

AFTER YOUR ASSESSMENT

You will receive a complete file containing a detailed report from the doctor who supervised your assessment, including the risk factors identified and personalized recommendations, as well as a copy of the results of the examinations performed.
