Andrés Ramírez Zamudio, MD, MPH, is a gynecologic surgeon certified by The American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology and a specialist in Reproductive Infectious Diseases.
Prior to establishing his practice at the American Hospital of Paris, Dr. Ramírez Zamudio was an Assistant Professor at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. There, he served as the director of the HPV, Dysplasia and GYN Infections Center of Excellence and focused on medical and surgical treatments of infectious conditions affecting the gynecologic tract, including dysplasia and pre-cancers caused by HPV, sexually transmitted infections, vaginitis, HIV Pre-Exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), as well as infections during pregnancy such as HIV, hepatitis and syphilis.
In addition to his expertise in infectious diseases, Dr. Ramírez Zamudio offers comprehensive care for benign gynecologic conditions, providing both medical and surgical treatment for conditions such as fibroids, polyps, ovarian cysts, abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis, symptoms of menopause and vulvar disease. He is skilled in minimally-invasive procedures, utilizing laparoscopic, robotic or vaginal approaches to ensure quicker recovery times and less post-operative pain for his patients. Dr. Ramírez Zamudio's approach is highly patient-centered, focusing on tailoring treatment plans to each individual's needs and preferences, while ensuring compassionate and inclusive care.
With his commitment to comprehensive, inclusive care, Dr. Ramírez Zamudio also brings years of experience from Mount Sinai’s Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery. He provides gender-affirming hormonal therapy and offers gender-affirming surgeries, such as hysterectomy, oophorectomy, and vaginectomy (colpectomy). He welcomes ANY individual requiring gynecologic care and offers consultations in French, English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Dr. Ramírez Zamudio received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Harvard University, his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and a Master’s in Public Health from the EHESP French School of Public Health. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, followed by advanced training in Reproductive Infectious Diseases under the guidance of Dr. Rhoda Sperling.
