Professor Raphaël COSCAS is a vascular surgeon specialized in arterial diseases. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive and endovascular techniques.
He notably manages:
- aortic aneurysms, offering both standard and complex endovascular aortic repair (EVAR and FEVAR/BEVAR), as well as open surgical repair
- peripheral arterial diseases affecting the carotid arteries, lower limbs, and visceral arteries
- vascular conditions related to sports, such as functional popliteal artery entrapment syndrome, chronic exertional compartment syndrome, iliac endofibrosis, and thoracic outlet syndrome
During his training, he completed his residency in Paris public hospitals and further specialized through a fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic (Ohio, USA). In parallel, he obtained a Master’s degree in vascular implants from ENSAM, a PhD in aortic diseases from Paris-Saclay University, and additional training in healthcare management at Mines Paris.
He is full Professor of Vascular Surgery at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ) since 2018, and combines clinical practice with academic responsibilities, including research and teaching. He is Head of the Vascular Surgery Department at Ambroise Paré Hospital (Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris, AP-HP). His work at the American Hospital of Paris is part of an academic hospital partnership in vascular surgery involving UVSQ and AP-HP.
He is the author or co-author of more than 150 international publications, contributes to European guidelines (European Society for Vascular Surgery), and is actively involved in national medical societies within his specialty.
