Invest in Medical Innovation Projects Developed Exclusively at the American Hospital of Paris

The American Hospital of Paris’s ambition is to become a leading player in medical innovation in France within five years. That objective, along with becoming a recognized private teaching hospital, are the major two focus areas of our 2024-2028 strategy. To reach these goals, the Hospital has created the Medical Innovation Fund designed to promote the development of novel diagnostic practices and therapies; drive innovative clinical research projects offering significant patient benefits; and acquire cutting-edge medical equipment and innovative technologies.

So far in 2024, three major projects have been launched:

First Digital Twin Dedicated to Medical Prevention
Combining human and artificial intelligence, our digital twin will provide a reliable predictive assessment of each patient’s state of health – five, ten and fifteen years down the road. The goal is to develop personalized, lifelong disease screening based on individual risk.

AHPMED, an Innovative App for Doctors
AHPMED was designed to enable doctors to quickly and securely enter all patient data using a smartphone. In addition, during consultations doctors can schedule a surgical procedure in just 90 seconds, a process that previously took anywhere from 30 minutes to three days. This saves precious time that can now be devoted to patients.

Innovation & Prevention Award
The first edition of this award aims to support the emergence of innovative projects in preventive medicine. Out of 75 projects submitted by startups, three have been selected:

  • pOpmètre® by Axelife, to predict cardiovascular risk
  • BBalance, a bathmat to prevent the risk of falling in elderly populations
  • Akuity Care, to detect depression using vocal biomarkers

A total endowment of 100,000 euros has been allocated to support the development of these projects through June, with personalized support provided by a Hospital mentor. Beginning in September, the winning startup(s) (two at most) will be given the exclusive opportunity to roll out and test their innovations on our patients.
