Dr. Virginie Bourdin promoted to director of medical affairs at the American Hospital of Paris

Dr. Virginie Bourdin is a physician specialized in public health. She also holds an engineering degree from ENAC, France's national civil aviation school based in Toulouse (class of 2004). She began her career with a French aeronautics firm in Saudi Arabia, then worked for Safran Electronics & Defense (Sagem).
In 2012 she began medical school and specialized in public health in 2018.
Dr. Bourdin has significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, acquired with Lilly then Pfizer. She also worked for France’s prestigious engineering school École Polytechnique, focusing on artificial intelligence-related challenges in healthcare. She was a senior researcher in osteoarcheology and paleopatholgy at the archeology, anthropology and biology laboratory (LAAB) at Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
Dr. Bourdin joined the American Hospital of Paris in June 2024 as a coordinating physician in the Department of Medical Affairs. She is now director of that department, with the mission of implementing the Hospital’s medical policies in collaboration with its governing bodies, department heads and other leaders. Committed to medical excellence, she oversees the quality and safety of care and provides long-term support to Hospital practitioners, from their initial accreditation to their departure from the Hospital. She also backs programs promoting innovation, clinical research and ethical medical practices, all of which contribute to expanding the Hospital’s renown.
