Women's and Children's Health: Support a Unique Medical Excellence Dedicated to the First 1,000 Days of Life
The first 1,000 Days Have a Lifelong Impact
Scientists worldwide agree: The first 1,000 days of a child’s life are decisive, particularly when it comes to lifelong physical and mental health. Many studies prove that an infant’s organism is especially sensitive to its surroundings, from the day the child is conceived up to his or her second birthday. In fact, this period determines the child’s future, as there is a tangible link between early exposure to unfavorable environmental factors and the onset of many diseases in adulthood

An Ambitious Goal
Our goal is to offer a care pathway of excellence, unrivalled in France, focusing on the specific needs of mother and child during the first 1,000 days of life. The program – centered on the delivery of safe, multidisciplinary, comprehensive medical services – is a continuum of transversal care spanning the pre-conception period through the child’s second birthday.
To achieve this goal, each center within the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health boasts multidisciplinary expertise enabling continuous delivery of care in:
- Assisted reproductive technology (ART)
- Prenatal testing
- Maternity and neonatal medicine
- Pediatrics
Our goal is to address a major public health challenge: To guarantee every child has the best chances for healthy development, in order to prevent the onset of chronic diseases in adulthood.
