Before you are hospitalized, you will receive preliminary information regarding hospitalization costs and medical fees. This will be sent to you either directly by your doctor or by the Patient Information Service in connection with your doctor.
However, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that this is only an estimate based on a principal diagnosis, the medical procedures initially expected and the expected duration of hospitalization. This estimate does not take into account additional examinations or studies that might have to be performed to ensure you receive the best medical management of your case.
Based on the information sent by your doctor, the Patient Information Service will specify the expected total amount to be reimbursed by the national health insurance.
The American Hospital’s Patient Information Service will enable you, if you are cover by french national health system, to evaluate the level of reimbursement you will receive from your additional « french mutuelle » insurance coverage.
Please do not hesitate to contact this service with the name and address of your insurance company or a statement of your coverage.

Because the American Hospital of Paris is a private institution, French Social Security will only reimburse a portion of your hospital bill. The remainder may be partially or completely covered by your private or supplemental insurer, depending on your policy.
The day of your discharge, you will be asked to settle the entirety of your Hospital and physician bills. You will then receive a complete administrative file that will enable you to be reimbursed by French Social Security and/or your private insurer(s).
