Professor Benoît Gallix appointed Chief Executive Officer of the American Hospital of Paris

Stéphane Roussel, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the American Hospital of Paris, has announced the appointment of Professor Benoît Gallix as the Hospital’s Chief Operating Officer. Professor Gallix will succeed Professor Robert Sigal, who has deftly directed the Hospital since 2017 and plans to retire on January 1, 2026.
Stéphane Roussel, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the American Hospital of Paris, responded to the appointment:

Professor Gallix combines clinical expertise, academic leadership and a spirit of innovation. His arrival marks a new chapter for our Hospital as we prepare to launch the New American Hospital while strengthening ties with our international partners.”

Professor Gallix has ambitious plans for the American Hospital of Paris, focusing on the following fundamentals:
- Medical excellence enabling the Hospital to deliver the best of French and American medicine to its patients and attract top talents.
- Become a teaching hospital (partnerships with Université Versailles Saint-Quentin, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medicine, Columbia University) to develop research and attract the best doctors.
- Innovation: continued collaboration with partner start-ups on programs such as incorporating AI in imaging and preventive medicine.
- The opening of the New American Hospital, featuring 100,000 square feet (10,000 square meters) dedicated to a renovated Check-Up Center and 12 latest-generation operating rooms, among others.
About Professor Gallix
Benoît Gallix is a radiologist and university professor. His academic career has unfolded in both France and Canada. He was appointed head of the imaging department of the Montpellier university hospital, then joined McGill University in Canada as chair of the medical imaging department. In 2019, Professor Gallix returned to France to oversee the image-guided surgery institute in Strasbourg, France. In 2023, he joined the American Hospital of Paris as Head of the Check-Up Center. He is a renowned specialist in AI applied to medicine, and is a proponent of personalized, proactive and evidence-based preventive medicine.
